From Miyajima, we will take the ferry back to Hiroshima station.  From the Station, we'll take a train to Osaka Station and then transfer to the take the shinkasen to go back to Tokyo.  After two hours, we will arrive in Tokyo, and shot at Shibuya Station. Our last couple days will be in Shibuya which, along with Shinjuku, is one of the most liveliest places in Japan.  It’s one of the main centers for trends and fashions in Asia, and it’s also Tokyo’s most fashionable district.  So what better place to be for our last shopping days in Tokyo?

When getting to Shibuya, we’ll check into Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel.  At 125 dollars per night for a 2 twin bedroom, it’s affordable and it give a spectacular view of the city’s skyline.  This hotel is also a short walk away from the metro stations and the Tokyu Toyoko JR railway, making it easy to travel around this metropolis.  The hotel actually has a Parisian feel to it, which may look kind of weird to many tourists but there are many Paris themed concepts in Japanese animes/mangas.

In the afternoon, we’ll take a quick trip to Roppongi’s two shrines. (Roppongi is a 14 minute trip by train from Shibuya via Ebisu).  These two shrines are very special to me, because it was the actual shrines, used for the anime and manga versions of Sailormoon.  Rei Hino/ Sailor Mars was a Shinto priestess, and she was the one who sparked my interest in Japanese Shrines and Temples.

This youtuber describes both shrines, how they relate to the anime/manga and how to get there!

After dinner back in Shibuya, we will head to one of the numerous karaoke clubs.  Karaoke is one of the most popular past time activities that both youth and adults enjoy in Japan.  After renting a room for the four of us, we’ll be given a catalogue that has numerous songs in Japanese (as well as a couple English songs).  After picking a song, it will appear on the tv and we can sing in the mics provided.  Although there are English songs provided, we all actually know a lot of Japanese songs.  In combination with Japanese songs used in animes and jdoramas, we are fans of Japanese pop (Jpop) and Japanese rock (Jrock).  A couple of my favourite groups and solo singers are Hikaru Utada, YUI, Orange Range, Flow, Arashi, Kat-tun, Ayumi Hamasaki, Exile, Aqua Timez, Flow and Ikimono Gakari

Here are a couple of the songs we'd love to sing at Karoake:

Song title and description
1.Orange Range- Asterick= used as Bleach’s first season’s opening and made us all love the anime.  Even though its a hard song, Mansi memorized the whole thing and is a huge fan of this jrock group
2. Flow- Go!= Used as an upbeat opening for Naruto.  Easy to sing along and one of Alex’s favourite songs
3. Ikimono Gakari- Sha La La= Used as an opening for Naruto Shippuden, and its one of my all time favourite songs!
4. Orange Range- ikenai taiyou= From 2005 jodrama Hana Kimi.  This is Liza favourite song off the sound track
5.Kazyua Kamenashi (Kat-tun)-Kizuna= from one of my favorite jodrama, 2005’s Gokeson. (Kamenashi is also one of mine and Alex’s favourite Asian actor/singer)
6. Crystal Kay- Superhero= I love Crystal Kay’s music (she’s like the Janet Jackson of Japan) and this song is from the 2011 jdorama Boku to Star no 99 Nishi
7. Hearts Grow- Yura Yura= Alex loves this song, very easy to sing!

The next 3 songs are from Korean pop (kpop) groups who put out Japanese songs in the last couple of years (the Korean/ Hallyu wave is very popular in Japan as of late). Alex, Lisa, and I are becoming big kpop fans, and though we love their Korean songs more, their Japanese songs are all very good and easy to sing!

7.  2pm- I’m Your Man= I’ve been a big fan of 2pm since late 2008, and just love this seductive song (and the dance moves haha!)
8. Big Bang- My Heavan= This group is another of my favourites, but Lisa is obessed with them! This was one of their first Japanese songs
9.  TVXQ- Why Did I Fall In Love With You ? / Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattandarou?= Such a beautiful ballad from a legendary group, my favourite of theirs (now disbanded)
